Hi Catherine
How can I get rid of brassy colours in my hair?
Rachel, Morrisburg
Hey Rachel,
I’m glad you asked this question because it’s an issue a lot of women deal with regularly, including me. There are several shampoos and conditioners on the market that claim to rid brassy tones and some do work; however there is a much simpler and cheaper solution that you can do at home. Try washing your hair with a mixture of grape Kool-Aid powder and four tablespoons of your shampoo. The purple from the grape colouring will cancel out the brassy gold orange hues.
Hi Catherine
I have skin tags on my neck that bother me when I wear chains. What can I do?
Christina, Paris
Hi Christina
Unfortunately, there are no quick home remedy or beauty fix for skin tags. If they are becoming an issue for you, then you should visit your dermatologist and have your acrochordon (skin tags) removed. It is a quick procedure in the dermatologists’ office and should be healed within a day or two.
Dear Catherine
I love the way my hair looks when I come home from the salon, it’s so straight and super shiny. How can I get that look everyday?
Kat, Victoria
Hi Kat
From my experience, the best way to achieve super shiny hair is by first using a styling cream while the hair is damp. Some of my favourite creams to use are Jonathan Green Rootine Silkening Crème or Oscar Blandi Raffinata Straightening Balm. Squeeze a tiny blob of the cream in between your palms and then section your hair between your hands “clapping” it in while moving downward. By covering the outer and inner layers of the hair, the shine will be more concentrated. Once you have used your flat iron to straighten the pieces, finish off your hairdo with a fine shine spray like Frederic Fekkai Glossing Sheer Shine Mist To Go. All products mentioned can be found at Sephora stores or online.
