Q. Hi Catherine,
Have you ever tested heated lash curlers? Are they worth buying?
--Whitney, Brantford
Hi Whitney,
I have tested a few different brands of heated lash curlers over the years; but to be honest never found any great success with them. My preference is to put my metal eyelash curler under my hair dryer for a few seconds (just enough to get warm) and then use that to curl my lashes. It’s a cheaper and better solution, in my opinion.
Q. Hi Catherine,
How can you quickly save you hairdo, if you are caught in the rain on your way to work?
--Ashley, Paris
Hi Ashley,
Unfortunately, there isn’t one specific method to save your hairdo once it rains because everyone has different types of hair and styles. If you don’t have access to a hair dryer, you may want to try blotting out the moisture in your hair with a paper towel and then working in a tiny bit of mousse to help restore the body in your hair. One of my favourite products to use in this situation is Joico K-Pack Thermal Designing Foam.
Q. Hi Catherine,
I hate spending 30 minutes every day drying my hair! How can I blow my hair out faster? Do I need a more powerful dryer?
--Lisa, Moncton
Hi Lisa,
Wow, 30 minutes is a lot of time for hair drying alone. Let me give you some tips to speed up the process. First off, never dry your hair in the same room you have showered, the steam in the room will retain the moisture and slow down the drying. Secondly, blow dry the majority of your hair with your fingers to get out the moisture. You should only need a maximum of 10 minutes to smooth dry using a brush. Lastly, try using an 1875 watt ionic dryer. It has the most power and ionic dryers normally dry the fastest. I’m currently testing the David Babaii hair dryer, and it works really fast! It may be worth the investment for you!
