Q.  Hi Catherine,
My clothes always smell like my perfume. How can I prevent that from happening in the future?
--Jenna, Regina

Hi Jenna,
Thanks for your question.  If you want to avoid having your clothes smell like perfume you should mist directly on your skin prior to getting dressed.  Then let the fragrance dry for at least 5 minutes (longer if you have time to spare) before putting on your clothes.  Another suggestion would be to use a solid version of your fragrance which is less likely to get onto your garments.

Q. Hi Catherine,
A few of the products I use regularly have SPF in them.  Is it dangerous too wear too much?
--Rachel, Princeton

Hi Rachel,
The risk of damage from too much SPF (Sun Protection Factor) ingredients is very minimal.  The risk of not wearing enough SPF is far greater.  If you feel like your skin is getting irritated from the abundance of SPF, try to stick with the formulas that are made with physical protectors like zinc oxide rather than chemical blockers like avobenzone.

Q. Hi Catherine,
I hate the amount of hair I have on my arms but I don’t want to get into the habit of shaving them.  What should I do?
--Meghan, Trout Lake

Hi Meghan,
For a quick solution I would suggest using a depilatory cream to remove the hair on your arms.  A depilatory cream dissolves hair rather than cutting it like a razor.  Therefore the re-growth period is substantially longer than if you used a razor.  Please note that some people are allergic to depilatory creams, so you will definitely want to do a patch test first.  The most popular brands of depilatory creams are Nair and Veet. In my opinion both are equally effective.
