The annual Grammy awards proves that the music industry is a business where your image can sometimes be more important than your music. Even so, the red carpet is often filled with ladies who leave audiences asking “what in the world were they thinking?” Here’s a look back at a few of the biggest disappointments over the years.

It is always fun to trash the over-medicated Paula Abdul on the red carpet because she always manages to choose the absolute worst ensembles to wear. This yellow pleated Basil Soda gown that she wore to the 2009 Grammy Awards was just plain crazy.
