2009 Trends: Playful Platforms
Spring is a time of rebirth, and on this season's catwalks designers playfully made over an old favourite: the platform. A bastion of '70s disco halls no longer, the new platform can take a multitude of forms: spikey metallic heels, geometric designs, patent leather strapping or satin ballet slippers propped up on sculpted platforms. Look for contrasting textures and consider taking up yoga, because this spring, heels are high.
