Style Winners & Losers: February 20th, 2012

We're in the middle of fashion weeks and that means tons of celebs have been out and about. See who made this week's Style Winners & Losers.

Christopher: Oh my Gossip Girl! Steph, my fashionable prayers were answered last week when Taylor Momsen ditched her signature grunge/hooker styles for something a little more glamorous to wear to Marchesa's New York Fashion Week runway show. I thought that the former actress turned Pretty Reckless front woman looked absolutely sensational wearing the midnight blue Marchesa lace dress. So pretty! Fingers crossed that Taylor's look wasn't for one ~~night~~ afternoon only.
His Verdict: Style Winner

Steph: Whoa. What's happening? Can it be the grunge girl whose look haunted us both has turned over a new, lacey leaf? Like you Chris, I'm hoping this sleeker, more stylish Taylor isn't a short-lived reality. She looks beautiful and practically demure in this lovely cocktail dress. And who would have imagined we'd ever see her sport such delicate and understated shoes? Not me, that's for sure. Nice work Taylor, you win ''Most Improved'' this week.

This is a totally different look for Taylor; she actually looks feminine and isn't showing off all her undergarments. It fits her very well and I like the length of the dress, but not too fond of all the lace at the neckline, or those shoes. Even the hair pulled back is an improvement, but could have gone further by toning down the makeup. I'm guessing this is a temporary look, not a conversion.

Those shoes are ugly as sin and her raccoon make-up could have been pulled back a notch. But overall she does look very pretty considering her usual take on "fashion"

This is a marked improvement for Taylor, but... The dress fits very nicely.. a much more grown up look. The makeup hasn't improved much though... she still looks like a raccoon. The shoes are bonfire material.

Steph, if by "delicate and understated" you mean boring and fire-pit worthy, then, yes...delicate and understated they are.

She definitely gets the "Most Improved" Award, but it would have been so much better if she had have managed to dig up a pair of fierce shoes to counter the demure dress.
Other than the goth eyes, some 'edge' is missing from this look.

Is this an improvement? Yes, Is this fashionalbe? Yawn, I guess so... This dress is so much better than her usual trashy, lingerie get-ups that I suppose she does deserve 2 thumbs up. But really the dress is kind of drab and the shoes are ug-ly.

I like this dress.....have a real thing at the moment for black lace overlay with bare shoulders. It's not over-the-top gorgeous, but I would certainly wear it. And, yup, Cougs, the shoes need edging-up.

We all seem to have the same opinion here!
Dress O.K. ,in fact quite nice.
Shoes, awful in colour ,style and don't go with the dress
Make up , racoon like,way too much.

Remember, Steph and Chris, it's not a self improvement school here,we don't really care if it's better or worse than her previous looks, only what's presented here and NOW!

Hair. mmmmwgtdtt, you know.!

Well I like the middle of this photo. Can do without the coal-black around her eyes; can definitely do without the bonfire fodder on her feet. However, I'm rather taken with this dress (I'll ignore the bony knees) and wouldn't mind having it in my wardrobe/
I'd switch the turquoise nail polish for clear, and wear pearls...
