          The Valentine’s Day premiere proved disastrous for some and brilliant for others in this week’s Style Winners and Losers.

          Steph: Okay…while I normally love and fawn all over Demi’s fashion selections, I’m finding this Marchesa design a bit hard to take. Apparently this is an “origami-inspired” look, but to me it just feels like Demi is being attacked by man-eating lilies. It’s not horrific, but it is a bit too costume-y for a February event. I think the removal of one or two of those flowers would be all she’d need to pull this off. As it is….nope…sorry…two thumbs down. And you Chris? Are you going to betray Demi too?
          Her Verdict: Style Loser

          Christopher: I really hate writing this. Any regular reader knows I love Demi and I love Marchesa…but, like you Steph, I am having a hard time with the black and white Marchesa dress that the actress wore to the European premiere of Valentine’s Day last week. The origami explosions are incredibly overwhelming and not incredibly flattering. I want to like it…actually I want to love it…but I just have to give Demi and her monstrous frock thumbs-down.

          It looks like she has kleenex stuck all over her dress. It would be a great dress if you had a cold.

          I put my fingers over the two bottom origami 'lilies' and the dress was instantly better. If the dress had just the one lily at the bodice the dress would of been less busy and more flattering. Demi is of course lovely.

          finally someone disses the D.

          A couple of weeks ago I commented that bows on a dress are only slightly tolerable if you're 5. I rest my case...

          Not sure you could call those 'bows', reminds me more of jellyfish, or the pods from "Alien". Seriously, she may be the most celebrated cougar in Tinseltown, but you can still dress youthfully in a tasteful way. This is just a bad taste.

          Anyone notice on her left side (our right) the black is puckering out as if she forgot to zip it up? I now the white "lilies" are popping out but the black too?? And in such a weird spot??? Not a good dress at all!

          Was thinking the very same thing! I was going to say it looked like a bunch of black tissue boxes with tissues sticking out of it...not a good look for Demi or anyone for that matter

          I DO wish she would do something with that rather lank hair...she's not in her 20s any longer. As my mother would have said, "this is a classic case of mutton masquerading as lamb", and it's a feeling I've had about Ms Moore for ages. All very well to have a lovely young husband, but trying to look his age is perfectly ridiculous.
          As for the dress (in case I'll be scolded for being off-topic), it is ghastly...I agree with Melly about forgetting to zip it up.

          sexy yes, but fun and playful ?? aim for sexy elegant and classy, nothing wrong with that....
