          Style Winners & Losers - February 15th, 2010

          Steph McGrath and Christopher Turner

The Valentine’s Day premiere proved disastrous for some and brilliant for others in this week’s Style Winners and Losers.

Christopher: Hello Jennifer! Steph, have you ever seen Jennifer Garner look so sexy and slick? I mean, wow! Last week the fashionably conservative actress hit the Valentine’s Day premiere in LA and showed off her more daring side in a super sexy Valentino dress. The strapless dress, with its leather and lace pieces, seemed to wrap around the actress like a dream. Her bare neck turned out to be the perfect accessory but those Brian Atwood heels are pretty slamin’ too. What does everyone think?
          His Verdict: Style Winner

Steph: Truthfully, I used to find Jen Garner a tad dull. That was then. This is now. Like a fine wine, Jennifer seems to be growing tastier with the passing days. I love to see her embracing fashion and her sexier side. The lace detailing is delicate and dramatic, which is a nice contrast to the va-va-va-voomness of the leather. And yes Chris, those heels are spectacular.

It's a great dress but I wish she had accessorized a little bit more. It looks kind of plain. Maybe a chunky bracelet or something.

The thing that strikes me the most about this is how low the dress starts. That bare expanse of neck and chest is like a freaking desert. Pull up the dress or accessorize, or preferably both. As for the dress itself? Meh. Just not really digging it.

Jennifer's dress is so interesting to look at with its different fabrics and textures but it seriously needs some accessories..

i agree, some shiny accessories, would complete her snazzy leather and lace look...and loving those pumps also

While the dress is interesting, I just don't think it suits the type of figure she has, which is more athletic than voluptuous. That great expanse of upper chest is too much as well. She is a beautiful woman and I feel the dress lets her down.

Being a guy, I usually don't care that much about who wears what but in this instance, I'm convinced that Jennifer should be wearing some neck jewelery. Perhaps a plain diamond necklace or choker (with something matching on her wrist) would be the ideal accessory to an already almost perfect look. Yes, she does look "Fine" already but an upgrade to "Amazing" would be most appreciated. (Her smile and pretty face are unique and make a very nice start.)

Perhaps it's the angle of the photo, but she appears to be wound in various widths of black electrician's tape. Not the most flattering I've seen her in.

Where have I seen that dress before? Oh yeh. On "Survivor", when they wrap those hankies around their boobs instead of wearing their t-shirts. All she needs a few mosquito bites to complete the look.

          first aid anyone?

Naw, I'm not digging it at all, it looks like a really big first aid bandage, like a tensor bandage - only from a naughty shop...maybe it's a tensor bondage...

Sorry, it's early, I need more coffee :)

          Bodice?
          Anon-a-maze
This is not the dress for Ms. Garner in my opinion. Body types aside, the top line of the bodice is at an awkward angle for anyone. Add to that the irregular lines within the bodice, and you have a rude desire to go up to her and try to straighten/adjust the top. Perhaps a necklace would distract the eye and compensate for the disorienting top.
