Who the hell are Melissa and Christopher?

They've been told they're the cause of war in the world and they've been called every name under the sun. So, who are the people behind Style Winners and Losers? The easy answer: they're two normal writers who happen to have an intense passion for fashion. Melissa and Christopher have nothing against you or the celebs they write about. But they do look forward to your feedback every week!

Melissa Morra is the Lifestyle and Travel Editor at Sympatico.ca. In the past several years her quest for adventure found her living and writing in Europe and Los Angeles. The best time of her life was spent in Florence, Italy, where she liked to pretend she was independently wealthy and could buy all of the fabulous fashions the country had to offer. With a degree in journalism Melissa also lends her snarky wit and passion for fashion to our weekly Style Winners & Losers column. Currently, her favourite fashionista is her sister…who, if she was the slightest bit famous, could totally pass for the next Jackie O…

Christopher Turner is the resident red carpet style guru at Sympatico.ca. A lifelong fashionisto, the Toronto-based writer got a taste for the glamorous life during his stint as a model in Milan and New York. Not just a pretty face, Chris has a BA in Literature from the University of Toronto and eventually gave up modelling for writing. He is currently the publisher of www.experienceTO.com, an online destination that serves up everything Toronto. His current favourite style icons include Madonna, Sarah Jessica Parker and Victoria Beckham. Of course he thinks Britney and the Olsen twins desperately need a style lobotomy.

I love your "Style Winners and Losers" thing, though I don't always agree with what you say (mainly when you say it's a style winner and I think it's a style loser). I always forget on Wednesdays to check out the new winners and losers, so is there any way to get little reminders??? ♥

Hello! I really enjoy reading style winners&losers every week and agree with you most of the time. I do have a question based on what Sandra Oh wore ages ago. I didn't think I was gonna comment, but I just can't help it. Anyhow, it really probably was last year when she wore a big black and hot pink strapless dress. You both didn't like it because it was big and poufy, but the thing was, it was actually a modern version of the Korean traditional dress called the Hanbok. And after living here (Korea) for a few years, I find them actually nice and I thought that her version was beautiful. So my question is, if you knew she was wearing a traditional dress, would it have made a difference? Just curious. Thanks!

hey this is the first time i check this out and hey melissa is pretty! i like the picture of melissa and why do people think chris is hot? he's not but that doesnt mean hes a real REAL cool person i like the winner and loser thing you do and its pretty interesting when i see all these celebrities in their dresses because i dont watch much tv so i just use this as my tv source :) anyways, its really cool and i think ill start comenting more here because i never use to but no wi will............................................................................................... anyhoooo, i lost my mp3 at school today and im quite depressed! i dont know where it is and i think someoene stole it meaning they are OBVIOUSLY not gonna give it back..im posting posters in schooll tomorrow so maybe that can help do you guys have any other ideas of what i should do? because its a relaly special mp3 and i CRIED over it..so that shows u how special it is anyways, cant type no more--BYE

I wonder what you think of the dress Michelle Obama wore on election night? To me and anyone looking from a distance it made her look 12 months pregnant. The dress was OK up close but someone should assist the next first lady so that her clothes suite her womanly figure and look stunning from near and far. She is a lovely woman and should look and photograph well. But the red/black number, Boo!!!!!!

Hi There, I was really glad to see that you made a reference to Elizabeth Hurley's dress at the Breast Cancer Fundraiser. As someone who had breast cancer, although I didn't have a mastectomy, I think about all the women who did, and how offensive her dress would have been at an event like that. She really didn't need to have her boobs oozing out of the dress. I thought she was a class act, but showing up to an event like that really made me lose any respect I had for her. It makes me think she is in it for the publicity and not really to be compassionate to women with cancer!
